Nettie Walding is a Shareholder and one of the team of mediators of Family Mediation Centre Staffordshire. She has a small private practice, and is PPC to a small group of mediators within the West Midlands
Nettie’s interest lies not so much in the politics or theory of mediation (although she did undertake a year long part time course relating to Therapeutic Mediation, based at the Institute of Family Therapy during 2007/08 as part of a Relate pilot scheme!), but more ‘in the doing’ …. the endless challenges ‘in the room’, the ebb and flow of negotiation and the development of effective techniques to encourage/re-establish effective communication between couples. She also has a particular interest in the effect of the ‘clan’; the wider influences of family and friends alongside the process.
Right away from mediation, Nettie finds solace in the kitchen, cooking for family and friends, in modern jazz, singing (jazz again!), and generally messing about in the garden.
